Creative Applique Workshop

Appliques Workshop 5th of August 1-4pm £37

Join us for a lovely creative afternoon learning raw edge applique and free motion-sewing techniques. There will be two expert tutors to guide you through the process and you will plan, create and stitch a beautiful panel that can be frame or sewn onto a bag etc or used as part of a larger project.

Thhe course runs for 3 hours, all materials included. Refreshments provided.

Perfect for small groups. Places limited to 8 so booking essential.

You will need to bring your own sewing machine and thread.

On the sofa today we were host to the superb Jackie Harris of Brightspark Marketing leading discussion about all things arts and marketing.

Japanese Knot Bag Sewing Workshop

Sunday 25th March Sewing Workshop with Jenny (Boo and The Noodle) and Kate Wise (Kate Wise Makes)
1-4pm £35
Learn how to create this versatile bag. Knot bags can be used for hand and evening bags, they can be made with long strap for over the shoulder or kept short for a hand held bag. They can also be used as project bags for small knitting or crochet projects as they keep everything together and the wool clean and untangled.
You will learn:
Appliqué techniques
Accurate sewing, following a curve.
‘Clipping’ and ‘Notching’ techniques to produce a smooth, curved shape (useful for dressmaking etc).
Top stitching
A pattern that can be scaled up and down for different sized bags
You will need:
A sewing machine and 2 half metres of contrasting fabric
There will also be cake, come along with some friends and make an afternoon of it!
