Lottery funding success!

We are thrilled to announce The Studio Morland has received Community Lottery Funding for a 2 year programme of activities benefitting the wider community and develop the not-for-profit organisation.

The Studio is set in a beautiful building in the middle of Morland, and has been running for just 18 months bringing a rich variety of workshops, events, talks and sessions to the area including the likes of African/Jazz/Lindy Hop/Street and Belly dance sessions, access to experts, GP led talks on dementia and stress prevention, life drawing, canoe building, painting and weekly sessions in yoga, pilates and ukulele. The venue is a Community Interest Company, meaning any profits go back into activities that benefit the community, and it is available for hire for both community groups and privately. Businesses can take advantage of hiring the space for team building and away days with bespoke creative and wellness sessions included, as well as making use of the extensive gardens, nearby accommodation and its very own croquet lawn. Companies can also support activities that are aimed at hard to reach groups, dementia patients, isolated and older people as part of their social responsibility agendas.

The Lottery fund will cover overheads and costs giving the organisation capacity to develop into a sustainable model. There will be subsidised places for workshops, activities for teenagers and for older people, and those prescribed wellbeing activities as part of their own health improvement or at risk of social isolation. A pool of volunteers will be supported, allowing many different people to be involved in activities and run community events.

We would very much like to hear from anyone who is interested to get involved it’s programme, particularly volunteers, artists and wellbeing practitioners interested to run sessions, groups looking for activities, and individuals and businesses to support it’s cause, sponsor it’s activities or hire the space.

We are also very grateful to our landlord Freddy for his continued support.
