How can we think about Dementia?
Dr Venetia Young is a retired GP who has recently supported her mother with dementia through a 10 year journey after her father died.
In this evening talk she will describe how she got to know her mother better by writing poems together. These poems also helped her mother deal with her emotions better.
Venetia was the dementia lead for her practice in Penrith and did a lot of work to make care homes better places to live.
She is clear that this is a topic we can’t avoid and that with a supportive community the carer burden can be shared. Come and join us for this informal talk. There will be plenty of time of questions.
The evening is £3 which includes refreshments. Please RSVP to: firstname.lastname@example.org so we can get an idea of numbers.
