Joanna Harker-Shaw - Poetry and Art

Hi! I'm Joanna Harker Shaw, I create illustrations and poetry and love cinematography. I love poetry that sings across mediums, that enchants eyes and ears as well as minds, and it is this kind of art I want to make. 

A little about my background - I have been writing and illustrating poems as long as I can recall. In 2013 I independently published a book of poetry called Songs of the River. I teach creative writing workshops. I teach Gothic literature at St Mary's University, where I'm also I'm finishing off a PhD that's half literature and half creative language. The PhD is about my two favourites,Mary and Percy Shelley.

I have a great faith in the positive power of literature and the arts, and want to be a part of that - so I aim to create poetry with positive impact and hopeful message.
